APU Event on Indonesia Independence Day

Not to mention that the country that I'm currently living in, Malaysia is a multicultural nation as they have Malay, Indian, Chinese and other smaller ethics ...

However my university is such that an academy that can attract students from all over the world even from different continents. From middle east to South East region.

I have a junior who her classmates have over 20+ Indonesian students in her intake. So she invited me to stay back for the Indonesia Independence day event.

Event started sharp at 6:30 pm, my university's foyer was decorated with mini stage, spot lights, their culture's arts and decorations around and of course chairs for the audience.

Around 7pm, the whole area was packed with people up till 2nd floor. I can't believe what I saw, a strong community of Indonesians helping each other out to actually make the event happening. I envy their teamwork and patriotic passion towards their motherland.

Their traditional clothings are somehow almost similar with Malaysia's Malay traditional clothings "Baju Melayu" and "Baju Kebaya"

These are the photos taken during the event ;)

The one on the left is Malaysian Chinese, the one on the right was one of the Indonesian students performing. Her name is Intan, International Business Student, 18 years old ! She sang very well in her Indonesian language pop song. *Eventhough I don't understand a word*

Me taking photo with Erisa. This is one of the students wearing her traditional clothes from Indonesia. Her name is Erisa, 18 years old, International Business Management student.

These are my lovely juniors. Starting from the left,
Castor Woo a Malaysia Chinese IBM student,
Yesy a Indonesian Chinese Accounting and Finance student.
Jo Lynn a Malaysia Chinese IBM student, and I mentioned Erisa :)

I'm so lucky to work together with Yesy and Jo Lynn as part of the student ambassador team !

You can see that all the students hang out together and cheer for the event. The girls starting from the left is
Zainab from Tanzania, then Joohrah Tanzania, then the guy's name is Asad from Uzbekistan :)

The event ends with tuck of war activity. It was a competition between international students (mix) with a whole full team of Indonesian students. I joined the mix team girls and guys joined too. Joined 3 times, lose 3 times too LOL.

It was EPIC tired at the end of the night but I did enjoyed myself throughout the whole event. Looking forward for more cultural events ;)

APU Event on Yemeni Culture

This event was held last year. I had by far experienced the most enjoyable events after joining this university for having the opportunity to see and learn about their culture in terms of food and attire.

This is me with Yemeni attire. The knife that you see its called "Jabbiyah". Although people have used it in times of dispute, there are  societal norms that must be followed in order to avoid

defamation. It is commonly used in traditional events, such as dances.

It was really an amazing event because I don't even have the opportunity to enjoy these cultures back at my hometown. I still can't believe I'm in Malaysia, but still able to enjoy these cultures just in my university.

Thanks to our university's photography crew, the short video about the day's event was uploaded into Youtube. Do enjoy the video cheers ;)

Entering Degree level 1 in Malaysia

Asalamuaalaikum,

Life has been different once I step into the land of Asia, Malaysia.

This is the time, the moment that I desperately need a change in my life ... in Me.

Adapting to new surroundings, new changes an even a whole new season was really difficult.
But as I registered into A.P.U. I realized instantaneously that this is the university that I belong to.  They brought to my A.P.U. Accommodation after registering on the first day as I arrived in Malaysia. One of the Student Ambassadors was already waiting for me outside the airport.  I felt comfortable that my university cares about its students.  After registering in A.P.U. I went in to my accommodation where I met three amazing housemates who are still in touch with me.

From my home country Pakistan to Malaysia to my university ...
I had an amazing journey that I can just check into my accommodation , leave my luggage and just sleep.

More post regarding my university life style will be updated ;)
